brevetcaptain replied to your post: Oops. What are you talking about? I’m wearing lucky my 19-0 Perfect Season tshirt and watching us beat the Giants silly on my fourth Pats’ SB DVD. Hey, I watched that just last night. Imagine if David Tyree had actually caught that ball with his helmet!

Oops.
Sorry about that. Kathy just reminded me. I guess I was blocking out last week’s game.

Bailey is feeling better.
Evidenced by the fact that when I interrupted my lunch to go into the next room for 30 seconds, I came back to find she had taken the roast beef out from my sandwich and was eating it under the table.

Today is my 10th anniversary at my company.
Actually, it’s tomorrow, but since tomorrow is Saturday, I’m celebrating it today. And by celebrating, I mean working as usual without acknowledging the occasion, same as everyone else here. Oh well. At least they’re still paying me.

Crowdsourcing: Ham Washing
One of my co-workers washes his ham. Before lunch, he takes deli ham and washes it in the sink before eating it. I’ve only personally witnessed him doing this once, but rumors abound that this is not uncommon for him. He’s a rather odd duck in general, so there doesn’t necessarily need to be a rational basis for this behavior. I would have asked him why he was doing it, but...

Like Riding a Bike
I just gave Bailey a pill. I’ve never given a cat a pill before. When I was younger, between working in the kennels and my own dogs at home, I used to administer pills to dogs all the time. I was pretty good at it, if I may be so humble. But that was 18 years ago last. And the cat’s mouth is a lot smaller than the dogs’ were. And the pill was pretty small (1/4 tablet) and...

Brisbane Faces Months Of Rebuilding As Floods... →
In addition to run-of-the-mill flood cleanup hazards like infection and mosquito-borne diseases, Australia has some rather unique ones. Adding to the problems of cleaning up, rescue services may face an unseen threat after worried residents reported sighted of Bull Sharks swimming in the murky floodwaters.

Vet Update
Bailey is resting comfortably. She hasn’t been vomiting. Urinalysis indicates that she was very dehydrated, and it’s possible that the high BUN numbers are due, at least in part, to the dehydration and not necessarily acute renal failure. She’s still dehydrated, so they want to keep her at least another day, giving her IV fluids, and recheck her blood once she’s...

Way to go Tumblr
Finally posting a photo I emailed from my phone 22 hours ago. Thanks for the concerns about Bailey, folks. I haven’t heard anything from the vet. I imagine they’re shorthanded today because of the storm. I plan on calling them after lunch to check in.

Legal Sea Foods to Host 'Blacklist' Meal →
From the Gloucester Times: Legal Sea Foods, the pre-eminent Boston-based chain of 31 high-volume restaurants built on serving fresh, local seafood, is planning a one-night event featuring so-called “black-listed” fish in a presentation dripping with political juice. The target: “Brainwashing” environmental activists, as Legal President and CEO Roger Berkowitz put it,...
