Kathy’s father passed away this morning. Tom had a heart attack last month. While recovering in the hospital, he acquired a staph infection in his bloodstream that proved difficult to treat. When the doctors told him that the damage was too extensive, he decided to come home to spend his last days. That was last Friday. The last week has been very emotional. Kathy has spent most of her time with her father, and I brought the kids over for brief visits. He was lucid up until the end. I’m thankful that we had that time to say goodbye to him. He was an important person in our family’s life. Thank you, Tom. You will be missed.
