Within my grandfather’s slide collection, I found a number of photos of the construction of the 1971 construction of the old Foxboro/Schaefer/Sullivan Stadium.

I don’t know why/how he took these. He was a firefighter, so he probably didn’t have any connection to the actual construction. He was a season-ticket-holding Patriots fan, though, so I assume he probably just took it upon himself to check out the construction on some weekend day that when the site was unmanned. He even dragged my grandmother with him. She doesn’t look too thrilled to be there in the photo of her. He looks pretty pleased, though. Man, those aluminum benches were cold.

I have no idea about the horses.
