It’s a cold rainy day today. Soccer games and baseball practice were cancelled. The Museum of Fine Arts had free admission today, so we decided to drive into the city.

Apparently everyone else in eastern Massachusetts had the same idea. The line to get in could probably be seen from space. Fortunately we saw it before we paid for parking, so we kept on driving by.

Except now we had antsy kids who just sat through a 45 minute car ride and wanted to do something. We parked at the Prudential Center and walked around. There was an anime convention nearby, and many of the attendees were walking around the shops in costume. The kids kept asking me who the characters were, but I had no idea. I know nothing about anime.

We went to the top of the Prudential Building and looked around the observation deck. Even though it was raining and the visibility sucked, the kids still liked it and we got to have it count as a fun thing that we did so that we could go home. Except that it cost us $60 for the observation deck on a rainy day, which I personally thought was way worse than going to the MFA for free.

We should have had a better backup plan.

Today was my final day of Physical Therapy. I get charged a $15 co-insurance every visit, which they let accumulate for 5–7 visits before having me pay in a small lump sum. When I got there today I asked the teenager at the desk if I could “settle” my bill. She had no idea what I meant by that. “Do you mean you want a printout?”

Kathy’s “Book Club” is meeting at our house this evening. I’m in the next room surfing the web and eavesdropping. We’re 50 minutes in and there’s yet been no mention of this “book” they’re supposedly going to discuss.

Maybe they need more wine before they start that topic.

Tonight’s baseball game was the inaugural game for the kids doing the pitching. Until now it had been coach-pitch.

Aidan came on to pitch the sixth inning. He did a great job, despite not really having done much practice for it. In fact, he struck out the last batter to end the game (shown here).
